♡ Becca backlight priming filter review ♡

July 11, 2018

My love for primer have grown and grown and grown. They're no denying that over the past year I've been on a primer quest. I’ve got a good selection of my favourite primers for different things and I’m loving using them.

Recently I got the becca backlight priming filter and this is so different to everything else I’ve tried! It’s a gorgeous primer and I really do love it but I know it’s so underrated!! I’ve never heard anything about it so reviewing it will hopefully make more people aware so they can get it.

The packaging is so sleek! I love it, the frosted glass bottle is something I’ve never seen before and it shows the glow of the primer suttly though it, which I really like! It is really simple yet glamorous and classic becca. The way the lid has the becca logo on top also makes it look so original and even more eye catching!

Onto the worst part about the product, the price. £32 is so much for a primer. If this wasn’t a gift I don’t think I would have bought it! You can definitely tell it’s luxurious but the price is hard to justify.

The primer is described on the cult beauty website as ‘Becca’s beautiful illuminating Backlit Priming Filter is the ultimate foil for dulled skin showing signs of fatigue. Ultra-subtle, ‘soft focus’ pigments blur the visibility of imperfections – refracting and diffusing light to lend skin a flawless, lit-from-within look – like somebody inside your head just switched a lamp on (and who doesn’t want that?). With a featherweight texture, this melts into skin – blending seamlessly to create an enviably smooth and dewy canvas – while antioxidant vitamin E and tightening liquorice extract combine to brighten, firm and ward against free radical-attack. The ultimate first step in your make up ritual, this is essentially a photographic filter in a bottle’ and I can say it lives up to it. T

he texture of the primer is really silky and wet feeling. I like it as it makes my face feel really cool yet giving it a suttle glow. Honestly I don’t like the smell, it’s something I can’t describe but I don’t think it’s nice. It’s kinda overpowering too but it’s more about what the product is like not the smell and the formula is so glowy, it makes your skin glow to the gods, leaving it looking flawless and luminous.

Since the primer isn’t specifically made to target keeping your makeup on, it does a relatively good job at it. My skin has gone quite oily recently so I need to eventually powder but I imagine on normal skin it just leaves you glowing all day.

I hope one thing anyone takes from my blog is to try get this primer to if you wanna glow. It’s expensive but looking like goddess isn’t cheap. On a real note, I’m pretty sure there are cheaper alternatives to this but I do love it and think it’s an amazing glowy primer!

  3. I looks so pretty, even in the bottle! I'd never tried any Becca products before, but from what I have heard, it is the best brand out there for achieving any highlighty or glowy looks!
