♡ holiday essentials ♡

August 07, 2018

Going on holiday is so excited but it’s got so much prep. Personally I don’t enjoy packing in the slightest so now I’m going away for a week in that summer - I’ve got a lot of packing to do. It was really fun going and buying all holiday clothes, but I can’t say the other essentials were as fun buying.

There’s some products I just use everyday I need (but don’t realise) and things you need in the summer so I had to buy it. Personally at the moment I think I’ve got everything I need and gathered a pretty good selection of the things I’ll need, my ‘travel essentials’

I don’t really think I need to talk much about the obvious, I’ll be taking my glasses, tablets, accessories, phone, headphones, chargers and all the basics I do use everyday! I’m not covering my as well clothes because if all goes well, they’ll be a separate blogpost.

I’m going to start with the ‘basics’ you need in the sun. I’m taking both my sunglasses because it’s just you can’t go without in a warm country along with suncream & a spf Lip balm! This trio of products will not be leaving my side for pretty much all of the trip as you need them in the August heat of Greece.

Being the book nerd I am, I’ll be taking my kindle with afew books on there and possibly afew paperbacks too to read as since I’ve so much free time I’m going to avoid being on my phone and just throw myself into reading as it’s something I really enjoy but recently I’m not having the time to do it.

To start with skincare, I’m pretty much taking minis of the products I’ll use everyday (these are things I’ve already got at home) and the products I don’t have minis for I’m just putting them in travel size tubs as I am not bringing anything full size with me due to a space issue. I’ll be taking my face wash, cleansing balm, cleanser, toner and moisturiser. But as a treat for my skin I’m also taking 2 facemasks as they’re gonna need it in the heat. I’m trying just so hard not to let go of my skin.

For my makeup, I’m really not taking much as I know I won’t be wearing it. I’m not even bothering with anything heavy just a small bit for a natural look on a night. It’ll consist primer, concealer, powder, contour, blush, highlight, eyebrows & brow gel and waterproof mascara. Just because I’m bringing these still doesn’t mean I’ll wear it but I’d rather have it with me then not.

I have put so much care into looking after my hair recently, I don’t wanna let it go! The heat and chlorine may damage it so I’m going to try avoid that happening at all costs! I’m bringing a Hair mask, Mini shampoo & conditioner (my current one in mini bottles), dry shampoo, hair oil & heat protectant. This will hopefully keep my hair looking as luxe as always.

Finally onto my last little section of bodycare, since I’ll be in the sun & pool all day I want to make sure my skin is as soft, smooth and hydrated as I can. I’ll be wearing suncream all day so I’ve made sure I’ve a body scrub to use every other night, a body butter to hydrate my skin & a gorgeous shower gel! This is the only section I got all new products to try & have full sizes as me and my sister are sharing them.

I really hope I haven’t overpacked (well I’ve definitely not underpacked!) I do think everything I’m bringing are things that I’ll use - I’m trying not to change any of my routines up for it. I think this is really the basics in all departments that you’ll need when you’re going anywhere.

  4. These are lovely travel basics! I find it so easy to overpack when I go away, but I try and leave a lot behind and just focus on keeping my skin hydrated and protected in the sunshine! The aftersun tissue mask looks lovely though, I might have to pick that up.

  6. Hey Bailey, great selection of items to take on holiday. What are you planning to read when you are on holiday? x Also just a little thing, I don't know if it's just my laptop - but your top blog menu moves down when I scroll (i don't know if that makes sense), so it's a bit harder to read your lovely words, just thought I'd let you know x
