♡ how to be prepared to go back to school ♡

September 01, 2018

After an amazing summer, it’s time to go back to reality and go back to school - the time of the year we’ve all been dreading and ignoring throughout August. No one really ands to do it but we all have to and with this being my last year in high school I want to do it right.

Most people are going back to school / college / uni so atleast we’re all in the same boat. Getting prepared to go back to school is not fun but it really takes me awhile! There are so many factors you don’t wanna think about but you need to and the best thing to do is get them out of the way. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m a really organised person.

I know during the school time I lack so much sleep so I use the summer to catch up on sleep! This is so important is it refreshes me and helps me be more motivated and ready to go back to school as we all need to be as if we start the year off positive, then we can hope it’ll carry on like that.

I know how education has a really bad toll on mental health due to exam stress and the system itself so I know over summer I do extra self care, to try mental health at a good point and so in hope I can keep it that way thoughout the year because school really stresses me out. My mental health recently has been getting down due to school so that summer has helped me get in a good place and I hope I stay here.

Being mentally prepared is so important as school harms mental health so much and it’s such a shame but so many of us suffer. We all have set mental attitudes towards school - if you think you’re failed, you convince yourself you’re going to fail. Honestly this year shouldn’t be like that. I know a personal goal of mine is to be kind to myself and help build myself a better mental attitude that’s more positive before school as I am such a self doubter and I wish I wasn’t.

The thing I reckon schools will think is the most important is being physically prepared. Getting new stationary and a bag is the fun part but getting uniform isn’t! I always overbuy so I have enough supply’s to last me though the year.

Letting go of the summer is hard but we eventually need to do it. The only bonus is autumn is in its way and that’s my favourite season of the year so I guess that’s something to look forward to! Let’s pray this school / college / uni year is a good one!

School can be a crazy time for everyone! I'm a teacher and I definitely cherished the summer days as I had a lot of time to mentally recoup. Hope your year goes amazing!
