♡ Increasing traffic on your blog ♡
April 10, 2019Blogging is one of my favouriyr things to do. It is so exciting and I think it’s so fun to write posts for people to enjoy and read them - but when no one is reading your posts it can be really disheartening. Everyone knows what it feels like wether it’s the start of your blog or a droit. so i try keep my traffic boosted all the time.
It’s not as easy as you think - blogging can be so hit and miss i have noticed even more over the past year. sometimes blowing up for no reason which is even more exciting!
As I’m not a huge blogger, compared to who I read, I’ve found these tips help my blog stay afloat with consistent views.
As a blogger you need to devote so much time to promoting yourself and your posts. The best way is Twitter for me and it is so important you you can get yourself out there in the blogging community - as it’s so huge, you can dive right in! Use social media like twitter, Pinterest and instagram to get your posts out there by sharing them and people will find your blog and enjoy it leading to them reading most posts. I am currently experimenting with Pinterest but Twitter is my main source if views.
When blogging, I find it’s so important to keep a constant flow of content! I love having new posts to read by my favourite bloggers and seeing them constantly posting makes me wanna read them more, because when you enjoy something you can just dive right into their blogs, i know I always try be original with posts or just stay in the same niche to get people to want to read your posts continuously and will become loyal readers. I post once a week, tends to be on a Saturday - if you have a schedule your views tend to know when you are posting so will expect it and be ready. You do notice such an increase in views when it’s from loyal readers and they interact too. Twitter is a great place to build a following with readers who do return.
Joining blogger support places like Pinterest boards or twitter threads are so amazing! They are a way to read people’s posts and find new bloggers but also put yourself out there. You can even start your own. I find the more of these I do, I can see my traffic growing though people checking out my posts from them and it is such a good way to support other bloggers too. There are twitter accounts such as @theclique_UK, @TeacupClub_, @BloggersHut and so many more
In the blogging community, one of the key features I think is supporting each other. Everybody’s in the same boat - everyone is writing amazing posts and we all want to share our blogs. It is such a amazing feeling seeing what you have achieved on your own blog and we are all doing the same thing so why not show each other love? as obvious it is my sound, One of the key principles of blogging really goes down to support each other. Leave comments on other peoples posts, tell them how much you enjoyed the post. This Kindness really does go a long way and bloggers tend to return it back on your blog.
We all know views are not the priority but, getting them on your posts helps motivate you so much - you feel like you’re trapped in a dead end when you don’t have a steady view set. I felt like this for so long but seeing people enjoy your posts is the best feeling. I love knowing I am increasing traffic organically as is so important and can determine the mood for the blog - I wanted to help people in ways I do! These tips have helped me so much and I’ve built them up over the past few years!

I find it hard to get my blog views up some months but I find joining Facebook groups for people with like minded interests helped me! I post some of my posts to a women with ADHD group and Facebook sends a lot of traffic my way! x

DeleteGreat tips Bailey! When I first started blogging I was afraid to use Instagram because I thought it would be really tough and it wouldn't drive traffic to my blog. I was so wrong - it's helped so much! Thanks for sharing x

DeleteGreat tips Bailey, found you on The Clique's twitter share thread. Joining forces with other small bloggers for comments and shares really does help! If you would like, please feel free to join my Facebook Group where I'm posting share threads to help us all spread the love! It's fairly new, so share threads are only on Fridays right now, but as the group grows I'll be increasing the number. https://facebook.com/groups/connect.share.grow (All blogging genres are welcome!)
ReplyDeletei am so glad you did - it proves my point! thank you x
DeleteI totally agree the boost in feels from getting views is awesome - I feel like I am reaching people and although I'm still new I like to see my traffic being a split of roughly 50/50 new and returning so that I know people want to come back and read what I write.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much rely on twitter to grow my traffic for now, I might branch out more in future but I'm happy with slow and organic growth.
i completely agree and i feel the same way too x

Great tips! I'm still trying to get the hang of Pinterest as a way of promoting my blog, though. I've started to make Pinterest graphics with Canva, but it's definitely a learning curve. And I completely agree with Twitter threads- it's a great way to engage and find new blogs and readers!
