♡ Spot treatments, do they work? ♡

March 14, 2020

Winter and my skin are not friends. It goes really dry and tends to be the time I breakout the most in the year and I hate it so much. This year I’ve been trying anything to help get rid of it! People have recommended all types of things and I’ve been trying and trying. There are so many spot treatments out there but the real question is - do they work? Since January I’ve been trailing some abd I wanted to share my thoughts.

One of the first thing I tried is quiet popular. Tea tree oil I’d known to help spots as it’s a natural solution that works just as well as chemicals. I have a mini tea tree from the body shop and I found this is one of the most effective ways to get rid of my spots.I use a cotton bud and dan a bit on my spots on the night and by the morning they are so much less inflamed. If there’s anything I’m going to recommend on this post is certainly this!

Next, on the more affordable side for only £3, u tried the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Blemish Stick. This is Formulated with Tea Tree Oil and Witch Hazel to help calm the skin, claims to ‘work straight away, instantly absorbing excess oil to help prevent future blemishes reducing the appearance of redness for clearer looking skin’. From using this for about 3 weeks, I really didn’t think it was that effective. I noticed it did help dry out spots but never noticed a massive clearing effect.

Another resort I tried was a concept I’ve never seen before. Primark at the time had a a korean beauty brand that sold stickers to put on your spots. They contain salicylic acid which is know to help your skin as it exfoliates, unclogs pores and has antibacterial properties. But I must say I didn’t think these worked. Maybe it’s the brand or just my skin put I used them 5 times over 3 weekend though the night and didn’t noticed any difference in my skin where they were. I think these are a gimmick product.

This is not as much a treatment for spots but I’ve been told that more exfoliation you do it helps your skin. I decided to get Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish. I really like this product as it has them and saying obviously and it’s such a gentle exfoliating effect on your face, it’s not too harsh and really help clear my skin and make it glow. But I found my skin didn’t like it being used every day so are used it every few days and it does make a difference I really like this as a form of treatment. there is so many other ways out there to help treat spots and I really want to try them!

when your skin doesn’t make you feel confident like mind doesn't, finding any product that can try help makes the world of a difference. The process of trial and error which seventh from this post and I surely will be sticking with Tea tree oil but carrying on to try more ways!

I have an extensive collection of essential oils but haven't ever used them on my face. I will definitely try it next time there is a breakout.

  7. Hey Bailey! My sister and I definitely like using tea tree oil on those "hard to go away" blemishes, it really shrinks the pimple! Thanks for the heads up on the other products. My favorite go-to spot treatments are the Mario Badescu drying lotion and the Pixi Glow Tonic, both products have calmed down cystic acne in like a week!
