♡ How I balance blogging and school ♡

November 07, 2018

I’m not going to sugar coat it, this is hard and I know with my GCSEs and wanting a social life it’s gonna get harder then it already is but I’m going to take it as positive! Blogging is what I love an enjoy, it never seems like a chore to me and I won’t make it one. I will always find room for it as it’s one of my favourite things to do.

But finding the room is going to be harder. I don’t want this to happen but I know it will so I’d rather be prepared and after school I’ll be having a Saturday job, in college or doing an apprenticeship so I know it’s never going to be as easy or I’ll ever have enough time to blog as I used to and that makes me sad. Finding a balance is the most important thing.

My first and probably one of the biggest tips I can share is to pre plan all your posts then start writing then! This helps you know what you’re doing and when - I always have the blogposts planned fully for the month then start writing them I find it helps motivate me. But one thing I do is always have 2 weeks worth of posts pre written Incase you get busy because it happens and I know I want to post as constant as I can and not slack - so being prepared is worth it.

Onto how I balance writing my posts, I’ve noticed my own habits recently, the times I tend to write is before school or when I’m chilling watching tv. This is the time in most relaxed and free so it’s a perfect opportunity! Sometimes I’ll have a break from everything and sit down to write a full post but I usually gradually do it as I never have enough time for that. I just always make sure I don’t force myself to do anything so it’s all things I love.

For my photos, I usually take them in bulk! I try get a good lighting day and when I find it, I don’t hold back! Sunday’s tend to be the day I’ve got the most time to be as creative as I can with my photos, I just pray I get the lighting I need as though the week after school I’m revising then it’s dark! Photos from now till May will be a struggle since I use natural lighting.

Finally when it comes to editing my posts, I always edit once I’ve finished post completely! Once I’ve gone though it once or twice I’ll add it to blogger then add the photos if they’re taken to go along with it and mark it was written on my blog schedule! I’d love to know how anyone else in education balances this!

I find it can be so hard and I know a lot of people are in the same boat as me too so it’s almost reassuring to see that they are. I know how hard it is and I’m glad to share my experience and hopefully help people. This is my routine I’ve adapted to for my balance and it’s only what works for me.

  5. It's really good how you are able to balance blogging alongside education. I don't think I'd have been able to do it if id started a blog in school because I did focus a lot on school and didn't have a lot of free time. You have a wonderful blog and your posts are really good. There are some good tips and I wish I had had these for if I had started a blog at school.

  10. Finding the balance between school and blogging can be hard at times but its totally doable! I like that you have blog posts planned ahead of time. Even though I've been blogging for years, I rarely have posts planned @__@. Taking pictures in bulk is definitely helpful. Thanks for sharing!

  13. The fact that you are finding ways to keep up with your blog is amazing. You are not making up excuses , you are getting things done despite what you have on your plate. I commend you for that & your advice is great. You’re going to do fine. Good luck with your semester.
