♡ Guide to toners ♡

April 24, 2019

Toning it’s such an important step I’ve noticed many people are missing in their skincare routine. It’s such a transforming step that I found has made the world of difference to my skin. There are so many different types of toners out there and finding which one to use is so hard.

Toners can serve many different purposes. They are there to help remove excess dirt, traces of oil and makeup, correct and balance the pH of your skin, and helps control acne. By helping to clean and close pores, it's specially beneficial for acne-prone skin. People don’t realise that these they can help your skin this much. This is where I’m here to help.

To start with you can either choose a micellar water or a toner and these are both different. According to google - The micellar water is a product which does it all: it removes the makeup on the face (including the eyes) and it cleans the face. The toner is used to clean the face, after the makeup has been removed and helps balance the pH of your skin with different ingredients. You get whatever will fit your skin. the garnier micellar water is my personal favourite if you micellar water

Onto toners now. There so many options on the market - high street or luxury! I personally think toners are worth investing as they’re full of ingredients that help your skin ever so much. They’re like a hidden gem that are so overlooked but make such a different and they all have so many different purposes.

I want to show some of my favourite toners new type of toner I’ve been trying recently is a gel toner and I am losing so much. My favourite one is The body shop British Rose Petal-Soft Gel Toner. It’s a gentle and soothing toner with real rose petals in that adds instant softness to the skin. This makes applying moisturiser so much smoother and feels amazing. It’s like no other toner I’ve tried before and my skin loves in the colder weather.

For a hydrating toner, I love the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic. This is also a rose based which gives my skin the hydration it needs helping refresh and brighten! This feels like such a luxury product to use as it’s got such a delicate floral smell and the smallest bit blesses all the skin! I love using this.

Finally onto something I’ve no adventured more into hit acid toners. I have tried the Pixi glow tonic but there are plenty out these. This kills the dead cells on the skins surface to help Your skin glow & have a radiance about it! My skin loved this and it helped so much improve the texture of it - I used this so much.

Trying a more educational take to a skincare post was exciting for me. I love sharing my knowledge which is by no means as good as anyone but mixing my opinions into it which I enjoy a lot. I love skincare and sharing my opinions with you guys Is exciting.

  4. A good reminder for me as I used to use toner a lot more in the past. Since changing to a more natural skincare regime, I started using witch hazel as toner. #sharingiscaring lol

  5. I've always been so much better about using toner than any other aspect of skincare because I like the way it feels fresh on my skin rather than creamy or oily in the way that a lot of the cleansers and moisturisers I grew up with and the early micellar waters did.

  6. I have oily skin and when I've tried rose-based toners in the past, I don't feel they do enough for me! I love the Glow Tonic though, that's one of the best toners I've ever tried. If you like rose-based toners, you should try the Pixi Rose Tonic as that's a softer version of the Glow Tonic :) x
