♡ How to fall back in love with blogging ♡

April 18, 2020

Blogging slumps are the worst. There’s nothing that makes you feel like you can get out the slump, trust me I have been there. Funnily enough i am writing this pretty much coming out of one - i have had the regularly yearly slump! I get these about 2/3 times a year for a month or two and i hate them more then anything. Blogging is something, fun, enjoyable and a way of showing what you love. I love my blog as my space to share things i love doing - so falling out of Love with it hurts.

I was thinking how do i get out of these? I find you need to just get that blogging spark back and it can be hard to do that. The best way for me to do this is read other peoples blogs. I got to some of my favourite bloggers and read their posts, or just any posts that interests me. This sparks such a joy in me as it helps drive some motivation to me. I wanna be like my favourite bloggers so i always gain an motivation from this. It just makes me really happy. This almost follows on from that - just build up goals. Being inspired is ideas helps like 50 blogpost ideas & 50 more blogpost ideas to use the inspiration of the content you can create to flow. Looking at ideas helps

Look at your blog and see what you wanna change. Set some goals and see how you can achieve it. I always love reaching for new things and setting goals inspire me soo much - I just want to get back to writing and reach for the stars. Nothing is more motivating then striving to reach something so by setting goals you see what you want to achieve and can get back into it.

To reach these goals - planning is key. I am an organisational freak so pretty much anything I have the chance to plan i do! All these new goals, new ideas need a way of coming together so this is where planning comes in. I think getting everything in your head onto paper makes it come to life and i always want to then start writing these posts to get to this.

This is what happens - it doesn’t always work but I usually naturally go through this route and almost fall back in love with my blog. I do this as my hobby so it gives me drive and so much joy - especially when the slump goes it is the best feeling.

  2. Such a lovely post. It's really hard when you're in a blogging slump and feel like you SHOULD be working on it but just don't know what to write or where to even begin. I feel like this all the time and, like you, love reading other people's posts to help motivate myself again.

  3. There are times when we all lose motivation. Great suggestion about looking at other blogs and posts for inspiration. Also giving your blog some tweaks, maybe a little facelift or full on makeover, can spark some creativity that could inspire you to get back into writing. Thanks for sharing these ideas! I'll definitely keep them in mind when I'm lacking the drive to write. - Briana @ https://www.nextdestinationunknown.com/

  4. This is so true. I used to have fun blogging a couple of years back and when my favorite bloggers stopped, I felt unmotivated too. I've gone on hiatus, changed blog names and etc, but can't seem to find joy in it without engaging in other's blogs. It always feels better to get inspiration from other bloggers and connect with them too. 💕

  10. I am currently in a slump so as soon as I saw your title I rushed over. All the things a blogger has to do aside from actually writing gets kind of overwhelming and I need a slight mental break. Hoping to get started on a post or two this week however.

  11. Slumps are so hard! I have been in one pretty much since January. I was hoping to use this time to get back on board but I am working from home and home schooling so feel busier than ever.

I have had time to focus on building an audience again and coming up with ideas so that is definitely helping.

  15. I am feeling this HARD with my one blog recently. It's not that I'm not in love with it, but with the drop in traffic (it's an outdoor travel blog, so hit hard by the current lockdowns) combined with the Amazon affiliate news, I'm really in a slump with it. On the other hand, I also have a pet blog and I feel like I'm more connected to it than ever! Weird how that works, isn't it?
